As an artist, I use photography to find and enhance small scenes from beaches and give them the illusion of perspective; thus a 15cm formation can seem like a mile-long vista. A low light is essential to give them form so I often work at dawn, when footprints are less likely to be a problem. I am privileged to witness ever-changing ephemera for a moment before they are unknowingly trampled underfoot or washed away.
