I set up a question: If you will be alone forever, _________. I asked people from different-genders, age and nationality. They could answer my question by using any language they like. When I keep asking the question over and over again, I am thinking the question over and over again.

Story

The concept of this project came from that I broke up with my ex-boyfriend two years ago. At that moment, I thought I would be alone forever. If I will be alone forever, what will happen? Generally, in China, if a person is older than 30 while unmarried or without potential partner, the person’s parents and friends will very worry about his or her marriage, as well as the society. If so, marriage is important to both male and female, human should not be alone forever.

However, When we were children, being alone became a common state. A German psychoanalyst Erich Fromm pointed out that “to the extent to which the children emerge from that world it becomes aware of being alone, of being an entity separate from all others.” The life is a life of his own!

Thinking this question by myself, a Taoist philosopher Zhuangzi's theory affected me a lot. He said that a human was like a Qi in the sky. But after the Qi turned into a human appearance, went through his life, it then became the Qi and released to the sky again. This is an endless cycle of individual and oneself.

However, I am still confusing. “I am always trying to find ways of discovering new things about people, and so in the process discover more about myself.” Therefore, I set up a question: If you will be alone forever, _________. I asked people from different genders, age and nationality. They could answer my question by using any language they like.

When I keep asking the question over and over again, I am thinking the question over and over again.
