This image is part of a long term project which explores transforming architecture into art objects. The shooting strategy focuses on removing buildings from their context and utilizing buildings’ core elements of line, form, color and texture as source material to create new sculptural forms. For the workflow, this image was shot on B&W negative film and printed by hand on gelatin sliver fiber paper in a traditional darkroom. The Lith printing technique was used for its textural properties to help give the image the feel of an architectural illustration. No work on the image was done digitally—this is a straight scan of the original darkroom print.
