Seeking a new perspective on beverage photography and the brewing industry, I decided to fill my fish tank with beer. Using a variety of small props, each image illustrates a different concept related to the industry or to beer consumption. I used the images to create a series of promo mailers sent to creatives who work with breweries or beverage companies.
Jess has been wrangling pixels since the dawn of digital photography. His technical prowess is second only to his creative vision. Jess was born into a family of artists and discovered his passion for photography at an early age. His father gave him his first camera when he was 8 years old, and by the fifth grade he was already making his own prints in the darkroom. After earning his degree from RIT's acclaimed School of Photographic Arts and Sciences, Jess started his career as a photographer and retoucher for studios in Philadelphia and New York. Since 2000, he has managed a commercial studio in Colorado with a team of photographers, retouchers, and designers. Jess started New West Photography in 2016, at the apex of all these endeavors. Jess has always believed in making (not taking) great photographs, and is adept at manipulating environments, cameras, lights, models, props and pixels to achieve the desired final image. Jess also enjoys conquering some single track or hitting the slopes, and cooling off with a cold craft beer afterwards.
