The aurora borealis lights up the sky on the Park Road about 6 miles from park headquarters looking east. I was shooting dancing lights to the north when I spotted activity on the horizon to the east. Using a shutter speed at 30 seconds, I planted my tripod in the middle of the road and waited. The dancing lights gained strength and to my delight, spread over my head to the other side of the horizon.
