Canyonlands National Park, Maze District. Fading light feathers through clouds at day's end in a remote corner of Canyon Country. This harsh, rugged landscape is as isolated a setting as can be found in the Continental United States. Visitors are scarce and fresh water is scarcer. History, however, abounds. From granaries and pictographs to abandoned cattle trails, the echoes of past residents resonate.
