The Schwanenstein is a remarkable triangular glacial sculpture. This geometrical shape lies on the northern shore of the Jasmund peninsula (Germany) about 20 metres off the beach in the Baltic Sea. Like many other glacial erratics, this stone is linked to several legends and stories. With the ice on the stone it easily reminds of a sad incident which occurred on 13 February 1956, when three boys tried tosaved themselves on this stone when a storm whipped up.
