The departure point for this work was my interest in museums as a particular set of practices and institutions which produce, organize, and structure knowledge, and shape the ways in which we understand history, nature, geography and culture. The work includes photographic images taken in museums and in my studio. Using photographic and digital manipulations I disrupt objects, exhibits and exhibition spaces, creating fictive and enigmatic images, through which I raise questions about our ability to represent the world and understand it. The act of deception is overt, challenging the ability of an image to depict truth or deliver knowledge.
