I imagined such kind of picture for a few weeks and had to wait for right weather conditions before the shooting session. That afternoon a heavy storm hit the centre of Rome. When the rain finally stopped and the sky was clear again, I rushed to the Roman Colosseum before the sunset and started to scout along the walls of the monument. It didn’t take me long to find this puddle able to reflect the image I had already visualized in my mind, yet even better. What a magic moment! As the sun went down and the artificial lights of the monument had been switched on, I rapidly setup my tripod and camera and carefully composed the image. I waited for a few additional minutes before capturing the warm orange of such lights in order to get a proper evidence of the arches shape. The ancient paving of the road as a background has also added something unique to this shot.
