The majority of my work is portraiture of people that are strangers or those that I've just met. This family was visiting with another family that I was staying with in Provence. I was moved by their intimacy and complete relaxation with each other as family members and with me as an outsider. I photograph still life and landscapes as if they are portraits. I look for that same intimate connection.
