Pacu Jawi is a traditional Bull Race held in the Minangkabau highlands of West Sumatra. Two bulls run alongside each other in the muddy field of about 50-100 meters long. The bulls are steered by the jockey whose hands gripped tightly on the bulls’ tails and his feet on the wooden contraption that bind the bulls together. As the race gets on the way, the jockeys tend to bite the tail of the bull to make it run faster.
