The shearing gathering is traditionally the most important day of the year for sheep hill farmers across Wales. They are closely connected friends and at the same time a small remote community in which people still rely on each other in order to fulfill daily activities. “In the moorland regions where the emphasis was on sheep farming, shearing day demanded the same cooperation, with every farm within a group being allocated a specific day for this annual event. It would bring together neighbors, relatives and friends from a large area for this important social event.”
