Walls, windows, doors, their shadows and reflections… To me they are all abstract elements that bring rhythm, lines and color into my work. They provide the graphic energy that I look for in my ongoing project of capturing facades in the Netherlands. In photography I love the duality between observing the real world (offices, schools, homes) and at the same time introducing the viewer into a fascinating world of abstract tapestries. Also the two dimensional (straight) point of view and the square aspect ratio all serve the same artistic idea of creating a captivating graphic unity.
