This is from a series called Let a Thousand Flowers Bloom, of a mock invasion of the US by the Chinese, creating Mao's "Hundred Flowers Movement." The series deals with the role of individualism and self invention in a constantly shifting global culture. The uniforms come from a Beijing Photo Studio where tourist re enact cultural revolution era imagery to bring home as souvenirs.
