Whether we admit it or not, we humans just want to be loved. But in a world where our global village is no longer separated by borders or distance, it is now separated rather by our beliefs. And though love prevails in uniting and connecting much of us, there are still many barriers that remain for those who are denied the freedom to love as they wish. Â
In 1978, a protest led by the marginalised gay and lesbian community of Sydney marched the streets in a fight against discrimination. The protests soon became a movement and evolved into one of the largest festivals in the world today.
