Entry Description

After spending all day photographing inside Namib-Naukluft National Park around Dead Vlei, I made slowly my way back in the evening to my accommodation. I saw a group of tourists walking towards the dune #45 and a few Oryx close by watching them. I stopped to take some images of the Oryx with the red sand dune in the back. But the tourists disturbed this little assignment, since they gave me much nicer opportunities for images while they were climbing (Sand Shoeing) the dune. The dunes shine in such red colour, because of their high percentage of iron. The sand dunes in Namibia are amongst the highest sand dunes on the globe. Many 200 meters height and more. The highest sand dune is around 380 meters high.

About Photographer

The love for photography and nature has taken me to places I’ve always dreamed about; Africa, Asia, Australia, the Arctic, Europe and my current home Switzerland, with its stunning nature landscapes, the Alps & glaciers. Living in Africa and Asia enabled me to spend a great deal of time in the remote wilderness and bush. There I often ended up face to face with wildlife and on more than one occasion, experienced “real” life, in the wild. As a nature and wildlife photographer, travelling around the world presents endless opportunities to capture nature and wildlife images in a variety of situations! I journey alone through countries in a 4×4 Jeep, by boat or in any other vehicle which is needed to afford me the opportunity to visit some of the most remote places in the vastness of those countries. My nature and wildlife photographs have been published in magazines, books, commercials and have won several awards. I am a contributor to the, FemWorldview, member of the Society of German Wildlife photographers and the Royal Photographic Society. Clients are numerous magazines, publishers, blogs and companies, such as GQ/Conde’ Nast, Profi Foto, NAT GEO, Cox&Kings, X-rite, MacGroup, Datacolor,…etc. Do you need a professional photographer with expertise and experience for your brief ? My experience includes wildlife in the natural world, environmental subjects, landscape and travel photography. I am familiar working under the direction of editors according to their briefs. I am available for worldwide commissions and photography assignments. If you wish to enquire about photography assignments or stock photos, then please contact me for further details.
