In Chicago Reflections, the city’s famous architecture is reflected in various horizontal surfaces: frozen puddles on a sand beach, a wet concrete walkway, and puddles on a city pavement. The images are flipped vertically, transporting them into a “looking glass world” in which the surface texture in superimposed upon a reflected cityscape. We see both tall city buildings and the ground upon which they have been built. Strange though these flipped images seem, apart from minor corrections, no other manipulations have been made. Nothing has been added or subtracted. These are documentary images: a reflected Chicago as found.
