"TABLES" Since I was a child I've loved the tables (my parents', my grandparents', my various aunts and uncles') around which my large family would gather on special occasions. With this project I wanted to re-live some shared meals that carry a special meaning to me: by transferring the memories of food and guests onto these familiar fabrics, I recreated the snapshots of those convivial moments ... my personal exhibits. 1. Michele's first lunch in the family, October 2011 (blue napkin) 2. Lunch after mother's funeral, January 1991 (checkered napkin) 3. First dinner in the new house, June 1982 (fuchsia tartan napkin) 4. First Christmas Eve dinner after returning to live in Italy, December 2008 (white napkin) 5. Garden birthday party for my sister Letizia and I, June 1979 (flower-pattern napkin)
