The Silence of Anxiety
Â
From the time I became aware of my place in the world as a woman and the cultural differences between men and women, I have been deeply concerned about the global violations of women’s rights. As an artist, I am called to photograph images that embody this concern about the abuses against women that affect millions of females worldwide.
As I researched this problem, I began a series of self-portraits showing myself as one of these women. The result is the portfolio, The Silence of Anxiety.Â
