Entry Description

We mourne, reflect, pray and shiver on this cold mountaintop, Pak'oxom. The team of Mayan shamans are fully present. So are the thousand Achi Mayan survivors and kin. So are the fallen. The chill in the air isn't just the weather. This is a heavy, sorrow-filled all-nighter stoked with marimba, chanting and shared food. We viscerally sense the horror of the poor souls ripped from their human bodies that night thirty years before.
