As the NYC subway sped past me, I made this photography while standing on the subway platform. The boy in the photograph is full of wonderment for what lies ahead in the subway tunnel, and we assume also for what lies ahead in his life. Simultaneously the woman in front of the boy is reading a book or an iPad and is literally tuning out the world. The young boy is gazing towards an uncertain yet thrilling future while the adult woman finds peace by blocking out the world around her.
