I have visited Princes Pier numerous times before but the light had always let me down. I arrived about an hour before sunset, found my favourite composition and setup to wait. I didn't realise just how popular Princes Pier is, over the next hour 12 other photographer's arrived and setup their cameras and tripods. The water was calm and the sunset was looking promising but then thick cloud rolled in and I almost pulled the pin. I decided to stick it out though and I'm glad I did because the sun appeared just before it hit the horizon for only a short period of about 30 seconds. Thankfully it was just long enough for me to capture this unique panorama of a stunning Melbourne location.
