Cyprus is situated at the crossroads between three continents. The island’s position allowed the development of a unique culture which evolved from the 10th cent. BC. Having been under the control or influence of Kings, Pharaohs, Emperors, Crusaders, Sultans and many more, it boasts a rich archaeological heritage. Cypriot antiquities grace museums all over the world. Others are anchored on the land where they were brought into being, as sites of international importance. I was commissioned by the Republic of Cyprus’s Department of Antiquities to showcase some of these extraordinary places.
