Things only become meaningful to us when we pay attention to them, when our perception, our experiences and our feelings relate to them. This appropriation turns them into objects and changes our consciousness. Things become familiar, desirable (or remain repulsive, disgusting, ...). This work is a tribute to things that mean a lot to me. I put them in the spotlight. I pay homage to their design, their texture, their marks of the times. I also deliberate the bigger question of why we are so obsessed with things, how we think they define us, and why it is so difficult to let go off them.
