A surfer carves turns in the Snake River Canyon near Alpine, WY. For a very short time around the spring/summer runoff the river levels are just right to create surf-able waves. It is an incredible feeling to stand on a surfboard as the powerful river rushes towards you. The sport of river surfing has remained relatively unknown and is starting to see a surge in popularity. I have been documenting this particular wave for the past few years as this burgeoning sport evolves.
