With this series I want to present the little hidden site of Japan, one of my favourite countries for taking photos and exploring new unknown traditions and cultures. A torii is a traditional Japanese gate most commonly found at the entrance of or within a Shinto shrine, where it symbolically marks the transition from the mundane to the sacred. They can be found almost everywhere. In the middle of the sea, on the highest mountains and in the deepest forest. With the series "Torii" I wanted to show these wonderful gates as minimalistic as possible to create an unique, spiritual atmosphere.
