Entry Description

In Pakistan's Thar desert fifty percent of the area's population is still Hindu. Unlike most of Pakistan, cows are revered as sacred, symbolic of Lord Shiva and the bounty of Mother earth. These cows must still suffer the consequences of drought. The past three years has seen scant rainfall in the region. The result: over three hundred deaths in the past year.
