Last month we went on a winter vacation to a remote mountain village. Feeling disconnected from my everyday life, I indulged in chopping wood, keeping the fire and wondering whether the snow would block the road again. It felt like I'd pressed the mental "Escape" button and arrived home. Our children did the opposite: whenever they hit the physical "Home" button on their devices, I saw them escaping to some unfamiliar worlds. Yet, they felt at home too.
