In a previous documental work for an NGO, I made a photography work about trans in Costa Rica (transgender, transsexual, transvestite). After this work, I kept making some photography work about trans for work and as a personal passion as well. I found the topic of Trans to be very interesting and enriching; in the personal level, it opened a new world perspective to me. I think it is very important to make our society more aware of this minority group, which is often vulnerable to social stigma, discrimination and violence.
The Veritas School of Photography was born in the year 2000. It’s the only one in Central America that offers a university degree in this specialty. Its philosophy is to educate our students as individuals with strong technical and intellectual skills in the area of photography; an individual capable of producing photographic artwork with a strong conceptual foundation and a distinctive personal approach.
