Headless and armless sculptures found in Chicago's Grant Park. At night, these headless sculptures appear to wander aimlessly as the city lights project long shadows.
Mike Baker is an award-winning fine art photographer living in the Chicagoland area. Two of his greatest passions in life are travel and photography. Traveling on family vacations as a youngster helped to develop Mike’s desire to see places outside of his home state of Maryland. Further travel through previous military and current work assignments further broadened his view of the world via experiencing other cultures, meeting people from other countries. Mike has been very fortunate to have traveled throughout the U.S, Europe and Asia (China), including his most recent adventure to Cuba. Both travel and photography has made Mike better appreciate his own home and culture as well as the people and lands he’s visited. His work is best described by his own photography theme: “Elevating the Ordinary.” Mike has developed that inner eye, that "3rd eye" that provides perception beyond ordinary sight. Mike’s images have been published in coffee table books and have been selected and won awards in international competitions. His work is currently on exhibition at the 4ART Space, Zhou B Art Center, Chicago, IL.
