Campesino Desconocido ("Unknown Farmer") documents a lesser-known way of life within an endangered Colombian ecosystem. Known for coffee fields and jungles, the frigid slopes of the páramos remain largely unseen. Surrounding the anonymous figure are frailejón, slow-growing succulents that capture fog to produce over 70% of the country’s water. Threatened by agricultural expansion and climate change, these plants—and the farmers who navigate them—are critical to the region's survival. With his face obscured, the farmer is a universal symbol of the unseen hands tending to a fragile landscape.
