Democracy is the foundation of the American political system. It ensures that power comes from the people, not from a monarch, dictator, or single ruling class. On this day in January, the people of Chicago came out in a snowstorm to let their voices be heard. Minnesota had just had its second murder of a US citizen in a short amount of time, and the people came out to the streets to protest how they felt about it and what ICE was doing to this country.
