Hokkaido's coastal roads are marked with numerous tunnels that enable passage through dramatic sea cliffs overlooking the Sea of Japan. Nature thrives in and amongst the harsh climate. The image is a metaphor for my own personal challenge of navigating through barriers of my own making yet leaving room for my spirit to soar.
