Standing inside a Himba village early in the morning, the daily routine of moving the goat herd had just begun. The animals kicked up a thick cloud of dust within the wooden enclosure, which perfectly caught the low rays of the morning sun. Suddenly, this young boy leaped through the air to guide the flock. For me, this single frame captures the raw energy of their nomadic life right at the start of the day. It’s my truthful record of how these children shoulder their daily responsibilities with such natural, instinctive grace - as if they were dancing with the earth itself.
