Lubiana is one of the few women in the world to play the kora professionally — a 21‑string instrument traditionally reserved for male griots. Photographed in a custom pop‑up studio I built on-site during the African Beats Festival 2025, this portrait reflects the quiet, ancestral strength she carries. Through light and shadow, I sought to capture an artist who is redefining the boundaries of her heritage.
