With this series I wish to find answers to questions I ask myself when looking at different species of plants. What is it about this plant that compels me to take the plant apart, photograph and scan it multiple times and then spend months reassembling it to produce images that are both strong and fragile at the same time. What characteristics does this plant have that separates it from another? What feelings does it arouse in me? Nature is fantastic and so diverse! I believe through my unusual process, I am able to portray the plant in its unique semblance. My photographic process involves first taking the plant apart and then photographing and scanning each piece. Then, I reassemble the many images together. Each final image consists of anywhere from up to 50 multiple single images and takes over 3 months to complete.
