My work takes a view of an untold story of a Jewish woman of 98 years old, the only civil living inside the Military Buffer Zone in Cyprus, who has deeply experienced the pain of not only the two world wars but also Cyprus war by replacements, becoming refugee and losing her family members. I firstly started this documentary to have a better understanding of the emotional and cultural aspects of being an expat living in the ‘No Man’s Land’ dividing the island and the two communities in my homeland, Cyprus. As deepen my research in her life, I decided to include her Holocaust memories, which bridge over a better understanding of the political, cultural and emotional aspects of her life. As a citizen of a divided island, I have a motivation to develop intercultural understanding, which I believe is the corner stone of the world peace.
