Having spent a year with my mom as she went through the final phases of life I used my camera therapy to understand the situation and to step outside of the care-taking role. The irony is that the camera gave me a moment to breathe as she fought for her life while battling lung disease. My camera became an additional connection to my mom. Though my mother no longer has her breath, I still have the images.
