Celebrating age, wisdom, and a life well lived is something our culture has largely forgotten. My interest is to photograph and interview unique and inspiring Los Angelenos who are at least octogenarians for a publication to preserve and to share some of their life experiences, insights and stories for future generations. To create the images, I use a large-format 8 x 10 camera and then make custom platinum prints from the original negatives. The vignettes and photographs of my project by no means tell the entire story of a person’s life; they merely preserve an essence.
