In the contest of the soaring number of construction sites that rise in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) amid its frantic development, I investigate the objects, traces of former lives, left by the unknown occupants of buildings about to be destroyed to make place to new ones. Objects that can be seen from street level, like peeking into somebody’s former privacy, hence the name of the project : “Privacy Destroyed”. I would like to explore in these photos the relationship between these objects and the viewer, like these objects were, and in effect are, an alias of the evicted occupants staring at us and eventually leaving us uncomfortable.
