In Beth's words, "Cancer is quiet; it sneaks up in the night." In 2015, Beth was diagnosed with breast cancer:  bilateral, concentric, invasive mixed mammary carcinoma to be exact. These images were taken less than one week following her double mastectomy, where she also moved fat from her stomach to help reshape her breasts. At her home, still ripe with decorations from her welcome home party, Beth moves through the mental and emotional process of her diagnosis and recovery. Beth wanted to show an unfiltered documentation of her state, inclusive of drainage receptacles. The images were then featured on a blog containing Beth's journal entries and photos throughout the process. The blog is aimed at supporting women post op,an area profoundly lacking in support.
