As dusk falls on the refugee camp at Idomeni, two young refugees dance. Both from Syria, seven-year-old Rawando (left) and six-year-old Kaother, fled with their families after enduring five years of conflict. Of the life she left behind, Rawando misses her doll the most. After travelling for months and risking their lives on a treacherous journey across the Aegean Sea, the girls' families have their journey to seek sanctuary halted. The northern borders of Greece closed just days ago. They wait in hope that they will open, but they do not. Alongside tens of thousands of others, the families are still in Greece waiting for their case for asylum to be considered. Amid the heartache, Rawando and Kaother find joy in their friendship. The music that spills out from a food distribution van makes them giggle and their feet move. They are children again.
