La Serenissima was a title bestowed upon the Republic of Venice, and translates as the most serene. Venice stands as a monument to the improbable paradise where city meets sea: a collection of noble and magical isles that are home to architectural marvels that seem to have appeared from a fantasy. I wanted to present these ideas and emotions through photographs, I used long exposures to not only smooth the water but to eliminate human traffic on the sidewalks and canal traffic from the water, I shot at sunrise and sunset for softer light and also to include the magical street lamps adorning the pavements.
