A short film with a huge devastating message. As John Malkovich recites Plato’s “Allegory of the Cave” which talks of ignorance and “Living in the Shadows”. Illustration of the world’s most horrific abuses of humans to humans in our history cover the backgrounds as Malkovich recites. We soon begin to see and feel that not much has changed in our history. Genocide, bigotry and hatred are all still alive and well and being acted upon more today than ever.  You will experience historical newscast scenes that will bring up sad memories of our lives. Unforgettable moments that still today haunt us. The film ends with a Chicago cop that kills a young black man as he tries to walk away from conflict. The police shot the unarmed man 16 times.  “Allegory of the Cave” was written in 390 BC.
