Due to the Greek economic crisis the, the countries athletes are also suffering from budget cuts. For divers especially, the situation is dire. There are only 3 diving centers available in Greece, but none are suitable to prepare for the Olympics. The springboards are more than 10 years old. As a result Greece's diving team has nowhere to properly train. Stefanos Paparounas, 26, didn't manage to qualify as he had to work while preparing for the Olympics. He's now without any health-insurance, looking for a job, and worried that there won't be a next generation of athletes. Published in August on Der Spiegel magazine
