In the first week of November'16, air pollution in New Delhi reached a record high as the city got engulfed in a thick layer of smog. Particulate matter concentration reached to 999 micrograms per cu.metre, more than 15 times the safe limit. Bursting of crackers, burning of crop stubble, vehicular emission, among others lead to this hazardous scenario. Schools in the city remained closed for 3 days.
