The food materials in front of a cook are like white canvas in front of an artist. Like numerous forms of picture drawn on the canvas with an artist’s hands, the food materials are reborn as countless foods with a cook’s hands. The food materials rather than finished dish might turn a cook on. I took a picture of the food materials in the refrigerator one by one. I put it on the cutting board one by one as if it were finished dish, rather than the materials that were stacked up next to the cutting board before cooking. And I made it visible within one frame. When I felt the sheer toddler-like thrill from the materials, a great picture might have been already drawn and a dish might have been already cooked. I wanted to picture that feeling.
