Humans use their sense organs to interpret external objects and events. These established impressions sometimes lead to cognition and illusion without any extra thought. This is why you see a peony, but it’s not a peony. Instead, it could be the peony agglomerated by the salt flowers. The feeling of seeing a flower and it’s a flower; seeing a flower but it’s not a flower; seeing a flower again, and it’s still a flower.
