At Chitose Airport in Hokkaido, Japan, an area of heavy snow in the winter, our plane awaited take-off clearance in a winter storm. They de-iced our plane, spraying it with solution. Beyond my window, lonely figures braved the cold to offer traditional farewell greetings as they do in Japan before we took off just a few minutes later into the storm.
George Nobechi Born 1980 in Tokyo, Japan. Japanese/Canadian. Graduated from the University of British Columbia (Honors) in History with International Relations. Carves a 14-year career in the business world in Tokyo and New York City before studying photography at the Santa Fe Photographic Workshops in 2015, under world-renowned photographers such as Kate Breakey, Sam Abell, Arno Rafael Minkkinen. Journeys in the pursuit of photography and creates "Unmoored" over three years on the road. Nobechi has exhibited work in Japan, the US, Italy and Australia, and currently resides in Tokyo, Japan.
