While I was born in Iran, I grew up in Shanghai, China, and last year moved to Los Angeles, USA, for studying photography and filmmaking at Calarts. It was 2 years that I had not visited my home country and my uncertainty on staying in America, due to Trump's travel ban, made me decide to leave USA to Iran so I can plan where I should continue my education. Meanwhile, my dad insisted on taking me to Qom, the most conservative city of Iran to visit my aunt. Once there, I was culturally and emotionally so shocked that I could not stop pressing the shutter. Knowing that this could be the last time I was in Qom, I shot as many as photographs that I could to capture the very distinctive world I had stepped into than of my past travels'. All photographs except No.1(shot in Tehran)have been shot at Qom.
